What treatments can we do for you?
Generally if it hurts it's an emergency. Dental pain is commonly caused by tooth decay, gum disease and infection. Although we aim to prevent the onset of disease, the unexpected can arise. Of course, sometimes pain can start quickly and at any time, so we have allocated emergency slots every day so that we can see emergencies quickly. We also endeavour to see non-regular patients if time and availability permits. Nowadays there are so many treatments for dealing with emergencies because of the advances in pain control and tooth restoration, we can have you out of pain and mended rapidly.
As the old addage goes "there's no cure like prevention". This is something we firmly believe in and strive to educate our younger patients into developing good oral hygiene routines. We also recommend the provision of fissure sealants once the first adult molar teeth come through. Not only does this protect the teeth at a time when they are most at risk, but it also introduces children's dental treatment in a simple and pain free way. Ask your dentist for further details on this at your next appointment. For adults, regular examinations will ensure that decay or cracked teeth are picked up and monitored from an early stage. Early intervention keeps fillings small, which in turn dramatically increases their life expectancy.
Whatever your cosmetic concerns, we can provide you with the most suitable options, and perform the desired treatment to the highest of standards.
We restore teeth
The most common problem we see is the broken tooth. These can usually be repaired with either a filling or a crown. We tend to use tooth coloured materials which are both strong and pleasing to the eye. Quick treatment increases the odds of saving damaged teeth and restoring lost fillings and crowns. If the nerve is damaged in the tooth it may require root canal treatment.
We remove teeth
Unfortunately, it will sometimes be necessary for a tooth to be removed. This will be completely painless due to modern techniques in anaesthesia (numbing)
We replace teeth
There are a number of methods of filling in spaces. Dentures, bridges and implants, all of which are available at the practice. We have a visiting Implantologist and Oral Surgeon, Jason Lai, who has a Clinic once a month. You can get more information on Jason at www.dentalrejuvenation.co.uk
We also provide cosmetic treatments
This can be anything from teeth whitening, invisalign orthodontics, tooth coloured fillings, to crowns, veneers, bridges and implants.
Nervous and apprehensive patients
At Welshmill Dental we are very aware that not everybody likes to come and see us. Don't worry- you're not alone and we don't take it personally. We are trained to put you at ease and treat many nervous and phobic patients. Whilst they may never admit to enjoying the experience, they are always pleasantly surprised that we take the time to listen to their worries. No matter how bad you think your teeth are, trust me, we have seen worse. We will never laugh, judge you, or force treatment upon you. Rather we will perform any agreed treatment painlessly and in a caring manner. Our nurses even offer a hand to hold - we just ask you not to squeeze too tightly as they will need it back again afterwards.
